Description
How was this spiral amulet made?
This copper spiral amulet was made with recycled metal from various discarded copper materials, including a large cylinder from nautical engines and electrical wire. The process begins by flattening the wire and forming a spiral, which is then soldered to the copper plate. Once joined, they are hand-sawn along the outer edge of the spiral. Metal powder is then soldered onto the bottom of the piece to add textures and contrasts to the design. Subsequently, a ring is added to the top to attach to the chain holder. The pieces are then cleaned and polished before applying a torch-fired patina to achieve iridescent tones. Finally, the amulet is coated with highly durable resins to preserve its shine for several years.
It comes mounted on a 7 mm braided black cord with various copper details
