Description
How are made these spirals earrings with green turquoise patina?
These turquoise spiral earrings are handmade with recycled copper wire and often utilize discarded copper pipes. The process begins by cutting the pipes along one side to open the tube and extend it into a sheet as a base. Then, the spiral-shaped relief is soldered using previously flattened copper wire. Subsequently, it is cut along the contour with a coping saw, and the ring that will hold the hook is soldered. All contours are meticulously filed, preparing the earrings for cleaning and polishing. After this stage, the pre-prepared oxidation patina is applied, manipulated with high temperatures to achieve an intense and solid green on the metal. Finally, they are coated with resin to isolate the oxidation and maintain the patina and shine.
